Perplexity launches a publisher API with revenue-share for cited sources

Cited publishers can now enrol in Perplexity's revenue-share program and pipe structured content directly to the answer engine.

Perplexity's new Publisher API lets sites submit canonical URLs, structured summaries, and Speakable-tagged paragraphs directly to the answer engine. Cited publishers receive a share of Pro-subscriber revenue proportional to citation volume.

Onboarding requires verified Organization schema and a working /llms.txt file. Sites without either were rejected in the beta cohort.

What to do about it

Ship a real /llms.txt today. It's cheap, it's a signal, and it's now a hard gate for at least one revenue-sharing AI engine.
